What do I do if I have a breakdown?
Immediately contact the equipment dealer who sold you the equipment warranty, they will know what to do in order to confirm if the breakdown is covered under the warranty.
Is there a claim limit?
Yes, the claim limit changes by program, please refer to the actual warranty document to confirm the amounts.
When will a claim be refused?
If it is not a covered component/repair or the machine has been neglected or abused. Also, cause of failure plays an important role in determining a warrantable failure.
What types of equipment are eligible for a warranty contract?
Most brands of new construction & agricultural equipment still within the manufacturer's standard warranty. Each branded warranty program has different qualification requirements.
What is covered on a warranty contract?
Please refer to your warranty document for specific details, the levels and types of coverage vary by program. Your equipment dealer can clarify the coverage for you.
Can a warranty contract be cancelled?
Sometimes, please refer to your warranty document to be sure. If so, simply return to the dealer named on the warranty document to complete a cancellation request and to collect any applicable refund. A cancellation fee of $100 plus applicable taxes will be applied.
Can a warranty contract be transferred?
Yes, both new and used equipment warranties may be transferred once for a fee of $100 plus applicable taxes. Ask your equipment dealer for a transfer form.
Are the benefits of the program protected?
Our Equipment warranty programs are distributed in Canada by Protection Point Service Plans Inc. on behalf of Echelon General Insurance Company, both companies are fully licensed in Canada, which means the benefits of the program are protected under Canadian Law.

Do I need pre-authorization to begin a claim repair?
Yes, but only for claims expected to exceed $5000 or more. For technical assistance call 1-901-251-1715.

Is there a claim limit?
Yes, the claim limit changes by program, please refer to the actual warranty document to confirm the amounts.
Can I get a quote on a machine that is not listed in the on-line quote system?

What types of equipment are eligible for warranty coverage?
Most brands of new or used construction & agricultural equipment.
- New equipment must still be within the manufacturer’s standard warranty period. The eligibility period varies by program.
- Used equipment has no existing warranty, is legally owned by your dealership, less than seven years old with less than 7,000 hours of use. Note: equipment in the customer's possession is not eligible for used coverage.
What is covered on an extended warranty contract?
Please refer to the actual copy of your customer’s warranty document for specific details. Please note: the available coverage for new or used equipment is very different.
When is an oil analysis required?
Typically an oil analysis report of all inclusive oil galleries is required for used equipment with more than 3,000 hours of use. If you would like a full description of the oil galleries required please contact us.
If your service department is not setup to provide oil analysis reports you can contact an independent oil analysis provider to your area. And example of one such company is WearCheck.
Can I sell an equipment warranty after the equipment is sold and delivered to the customer?
- For new equipment, approved coverage can be sold after delivery but the equipment must still be within the manufacturer’s standard warranty period. Different programs have different eligibility requirements.
- For used equipment approved coverage must be sold at the time the equipment is sold by your dealership to the customer.
Can a warranty contract be transferred?
Yes, new and used equipment warranties may be transferred once for a $100 fee plus applicable taxes. Contact us to obtain a transfer form.
Can an extended warranty contract be cancelled?
Some can be, check the actual warranty document itself to be sure.
If so, have the customer complete and sign a cancellation form and fax the request to the number noted on the form. Contact us if you need a cancellation form.
Are the benefits of the program protected?
